As we draw to the end of 2024, we want to thank you for your incredible support and generosity which has meant many young lives have been positively changed through our work.
Throughout this year we have worked with nearly 200 primary school children.
91% of them said that they felt more able to cope with life. We have also worked with almost 100 young people across 5 local secondary schools, with 94% of them saying that life had improved due to their mentoring with Life & Soul. This would not have been possible without your support.
Since September 2024
We have increased our capacity in primary schools so that we are able to run our Life Without Limit (LWL) courses in four different primary schools each term, instead of three. From January, this will increase even further to five primary schools per term! See below for how we’re doing this.
Connect Mentoring is also now being delivered in a sixth secondary school.
A SAD GOODBYE
We said a very sad goodbye to Jenny who has been heading up the primary school work since it started, having been involved in writing the courses that we deliver. We are so grateful for Jenny’s hard work, wisdom and dedication, we will miss her but wish her all the best as her family move into a new season.
NEW TEAM MEMBERS
- Heather has been volunteering with Connect Mentoring and Life Without Limits for a number of years now so we are really excited to welcome her onto the staff team as she leads our primary school work.
- Stephanie also started in a voluntary role with Connect and then LWL and has now taken on a substantive role.
- Clare joins us on the primary school team and is very quickly settling in and proving to be a great asset to the LWL team.
- Susannah is supporting the Life Without Limits team, Connect team and Sarah Finch (CEO) by taking responsibility for many of the admin tasks that ensure the smooth and safe running of Life & Soul.
ANNUAL TRAINING DAY
In October, we were very excited to have Harvey Ratner from Brief come and train us in Solution Focused practice. It is an amazing and simple idea but, no matter how much you do it, there is always something more to learn!
VALUES POSTERS AND POSTCARDS
As a team we wanted to summarise what we are about in a visual way. With the help of the wonderful and talented Nick, we have produced this visual which we now have available as posters (A3) and postcards. For a small donation and the cost of postage and packing we are happy to send them out, or why not drop in and say hello if you are passing and you can pick one up!
